Monday, September 01: Labor Day

Caulley Soto leads a Vinyasa Flow yoga class at Goodwood Museum and Gardens at 5:30 PM. Bring your own mat and water bottle. Admission is around $20.

An Open Farm Fun Day at Redemptive Farm begins at 9:00 AM. There will be a petting section, talks with animal experts, and a chance to feed the animals. Admission is paid at the door.

The MoFA’s newest exhibit, "The Journey of Memories," has opened. The Museum opens at 9:00 AM. The exhibit celebrates the creativity and resilience of refugee women from Afghanistan, the areas of the Congo, Syria, and Sudan.

Tuesday, September 02:

The Sycamore Assembly English Country Dancing is meeting at Goodwood Museum and Gardens for a session for both beginners and advanced dancers. All are welcome. The dance begins at 6:30 PM. Admission costs range from free to approximately $8, depending on the age of the visitor.

Coffee and Commerce will meet at Earley’s Kitchen at 7:45 AM. This is hosted by the Capital City Chamber of Commerce.

The 50th Anniversary of Jaws will show at the IMAX (various other dates/times) at 9:00 PM.

Wednesday, September 03:

City Commission Meeting at 3:00 PM at the City Commission Chambers

September 535 with Tallahassee Young Professionals at Amicus Brewing at 5:35 PM.

Fire Betty hosts Karaoke Night at 9:00 PM.

A virtual author talk, hosted by the Leroy Collins Library, will take place at 7:00 PM. Author Hannah Nicole Maehrer will discuss her series, Assistant to the Villain. Registration is required.

Coffee and Cards at the Woodville Branch Library at 10:00 AM. This is a playing card (bridge, whist) and chat group.

Thursday, September 04:

The Bark hosts Philadelphia band Disaster Artist with local bands Bite Marks and The Dirt Eaters at 8:30 PM. Admission is about $14.

The monthly Bluegrass Jam session at the Blue Tavern begins at 5:00 PM

The Chan Center hosts its short meditation sessions starting at 6:30 PM. Registration is not required.

The Lake Jackson Branch Library hosts Craft & Create Open Lab starting at 3:00 PM. Patrons will be able to bring their own projects, start new ones, and try out several Cricket devices that the library owns.

The Springtime Tallahassee leadership will be behind the bar at Oology for the Springtime Fundraiser. It will begin at 6:00 PM.

Friday, September 05:

Opening Nights presents Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra starting at 7:30 PM at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. Tickets start at $85. Goldblum and his orchestra have been performing for 30 years, and play contemporary arrangements of classic jazz and American Songbook standards.

Old Porch Swing will perform at Bird’s Oyster Shack at 7:00 PM

First Friday at Railroad Square begins at 6:00 PM.

The Fort Braden Branch Library hosts Coffee and Cards at 11:30 AM.

The Salted Stage will occur at the Tally ClubHouse at 6:00 PM. This is a unique cultural arts initiative that fuses culinary traditions, live performance, and African diaspora storytelling into an unforgettable dining and theatrical experience.

Saturday, September 06:

Fandoms: A Nerdlesque Experience will feature a geeky night of Burlesque at House of Music starting at 5:30 PM. Tickets start around $14.

Making Awesome hosts a Stone Setting Ring Class where students will learn how to set a cabochon (materials are provided). Class begins at 6:00 PM and registration is required.

Redemptive Farms hosts a class on how to make Wool Dryer Balls, taught by Milagros Pollock from Five Acre Meadows. Class begins at 3:00 PM.

Sunday, September 07:

The Therese Whichello Trio will perform at The Req Room at 6:00 PM. They will perform a three-hour jazz show featuring music from the 1930s and 1940s. Tickets are $45. Tickets include a drink and hors d’oeuvres.

Amicus Brewing hosts Mahjong Tiles and Taps at 2:00 PM. Admittance is about $14. There will be games, a lesson, and craft beer on tap. All supplies are provided. A more detailed lesson is also available (sign-up required).

Tallahassee Film Society presents The Last Class with Robert Reich at the IMAX at 5:00 PM.

Medians, Not Milk, and Memory Door will perform at The Bark at 7:00 PM. Admission is around $14. Medians and Not Milk are two local bands while Memory Door is from Panama City.

Soulful Flavors Uniting Neighbors will begin at 6:00 PM at Amicus Brewing Ventures, hosted by The Village Square. This is the third meeting of Soulful Flavors and will focus on Jennifer Young, Owner & Chief Baking Officer of TC Bakery.


Tuesday, September 09:

The Leroy Collins Main Branch library will host a Google Account Basic class, covering email, Docs, Sheets, Meet, and Search to help anyone become more proficient. Class begins at 5:30 PM.

Panhandle Archaeological Society at Tallahassee- PAST is hosting a Stump the Chumps of PAST event at 5:00 PM at Goodwood Museum and Gardens. Professional archaeologists will be on hand to identify artifacts found on private land, so this is your opportunity to have that weird thing you found in the garden finally identified! There will also be a panel discussion with experts. This is a free event.



Wednesday, September 10:

Tallahassee’s Chan Center hosts Wednesday Night Meditation and Interviews starting at 6:30 PM. This is in-person and on Zoom.

A virtual author talk, hosted by the Leroy Collins Library, will take place at 2:00 PM. Communication expert Jefferson Fisher will discuss his book, The Next Conversation: Argue Less, Talk More. Registration is required.

Tallahassee’s AARP chapter hosts a meet and greet at Lucky Goat Coffee on South Adams Street. The “Coffee for your Thoughts?” will start at 9:00 AM. AARP wants to hear (from people ages 50+) about what would interest people in discussion topics, social events, and service opportunities.

Coffee and Cards will occur at the Woodville Branch Library at 10:00 AM.

Downtown Tallahassee is showing The Wizard of Oz in Kleman Plaza at 7:30 PM. Food is available to order from nearby restaurants. Attendees are suggested to bring lawn chairs and blankets. This is a free event.

Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency Board Meeting & 5 pm Budget Public Hearing at 3:00 PM at the City Commission Chambers

The Winery Comedy Tour at the Wine House begins at 7:00 PM. Admission is $20.

Leroy Collins Main Branch will host Lawyers in the Library at 5:00 PM. The Legal Services of North Florida (LSNF) staff and attorneys will provide free legal assistance. Walk-ins are welcome! Help is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on availability. Please bring any documentation related to your legal matter. LSNF provides case representation and advice in civil cases only to those who qualify based on their income or vulnerable circumstances. LSNF never charges clients for services.

Word of South and Midtown Reader hosts Author Rebecca Makkai (I Have Some Questions For You) at Westminster Oaks’ Maguire Center at 6:30 PM. Tickets are now available for purchase at $20.

Friday, September 12:

The first day of the 850 Card Show at the North Florida Fairgrounds begins at 9 AM. Admission is free. Pokémon cards, sports cards, comics, and other collectibles will be available for display and purchase.

Nate Currin will perform at 11:00 AM at the Senior Center. Tickets start at $15.

The American Legion will host the Albert Castiglia Blues Band at 8:00 PM. Opening will be Brett Wellman and the Stone Cold Blues Band. Tickets start at $20.

Saturday, September 13:

The last day of the 850 Card Show at the North Florida Fairgrounds begins at 9 AM. Admission is free. Pokémon cards, sports cards, comics, and other collectibles will be available for display and purchase.

An Evening of Jazz with Avis Berry and friends will start at 7:00 PM at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church. Proceeds will go to Shine Tallahassee.

Redemptive Farms is hosting a Goat Milk Soap Making Class, taught by Ashlee Zehr from LayZacre Farm. Class will start at 3:00 PM.

Indie Night featuring Tampa’s Rohna and local bands The Yeah Babys, Weatherboys, and Solomon Hill at 926 Bar and Grille. The show starts at 8:30 PM and admission is about $17.

The 44th Annual 5K Run/Walk for Sickle Cell Anemia at the Jake Gaither Golf Course. The race begins at 8:00 AM, and registration can be found here.

The Tallahassee Film Society begins its two-day showing of Monk In Pieces, which follows Meredith Monk, who overcame a hostile critical establishment to become one of the great innovators of her generation. Now, Monk faces mortality: can such singular work be performed without her? This will be shown at the IMAX.

Lake Tribe Brewing hosts Stein and Vein, a craft beer and craft creating event. It starts at 6:00 PM. Participants will create flower crowns for a $10 entrance fee. Materials will be provided.

Sunday, September 14: Conservation Florida hosts a scenic boat ride through Wakulla Springs State Park at noon/12:00 PM. Tickets are $34. The focus of the ride will be Conservation Florida’s efforts around Chip’s Hole.

Opening Nights presents Evren Ozel at Opperman Music Hall at 2:30 PM. Tickets are $35. Ozel is a multi-award-winning pianist.

Midtown Reader, Common Ground Books, and Oyster City Tallahassee are hosting a Boozy Bookfair starting at 2:00 PM at Oyster City Tallahassee. Art vendors Articuh and Moonbeam Magnolia, plus games from Tara Angel’s Magic, will also be in attendance.

 

Monday, September 15:

Florida State University’s Professor Todd Bevis will be the speaker for Eureka! An Evening of Science at the Main Library Branch. The topic will be how the Sun’s energy shapes Earth’s systems—land, sea, and air—in dynamic and surprising ways. The event is for adults and will begin at 6:00 PM.

Tuesday, September 16:

The Fall Backyard Gardening series, hosted by UF/IFAS Extension, will be held at the Leon County Extension Office at 6:00 PM. Topics covered include Garden site selection, fertilization, Fall planting, gardening techniques, and vegetables to take home. Tickets start at $10.

Gentle Chair Yoga at Goodwood Museum and Gardens will begin at 4:30 PM. Admission is around $7.

Wednesday, September 17:

Author Marina Brown will read from two of her books (The Gentlemen of Verona and Naked Thoughts) at The Tallahassee Senior Center. Tickets are $8.00 and can be purchased online.

A virtual Author Talk with Author Gabe Henry, where he will discuss his book Enough is Enuf and other oddities of the English language. The conversation will begin at 2:00 PM, and registration is required.

The Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum in Carrabelle is currently hosting a special exhibit on the Philippines Campaign. The Museum opens at 11:00 AM. Admission is free. The 38th Infantry Division trained at Camp Gordon Johnston. They became known as the “Avengers of Bataan,” as they played a critical role in the American campaign in the Philippines. The exhibit will explore the Leyte Gulf Naval campaign, the Japanese assault on the Philippines (including the infamous Bataan Death March), ad the Zig Zag Pass in Luzon.

Thursday, September 18:

Capital City Garden Club presents the 2025 Irene Perry Golf Invitational Tournament starting at 7:30 AM at the Jake Gaither Golf Course

The Tallahassee AIDS Walk, hosted by Big Bend Cares, will take place at Southwood Nature Trail at 6:30 p.m. Registration is now open for both walkers and volunteers.

The 18th Annual SHETea (Women’s Wellness Clinic) will he held at TSC Center for Workforce Development at 5:00 PM. Tickets start around $54. There will be panels, workshops, and small groups.

The Fort Braden Branch Library will host a Color Analysis Workshop at 6:00 PM.

The Science Night, hosted by LeRoy Collins Library and The MagLab, will start at 6:30 PM at the Main Branch. The theme will be “Weather,” perfect for this hurricane season.

A Charcuterie and Wine Tasting is being held at Argonaut Coffee, starting at 6:00 PM. Alexis Conner will teach you how to create the perfect charcuterie board, and wine will be available for tasting. Tickets/reservations must be purchased in advance (21+).

The Super Soul Revue is at the Moon starting at 7:30 PM. Tickets begin at $15.

DOMI Station hosts Innovation and Libations at Pedro’s Tacos & Tequila at 5:30 PM. Networking and some fantasy football action will occur. Team jerseys are encouraged.

Making Awesome hosts a class on Learning How to 3D Print at 11:00 AM. Admission is $29. Students are required to bring a USB drive and either a Mac or Windows laptop.

Friday, September 19:

Black on Black rhyme will occur at 8:00 PM at Signature Lounge. Admission is $20. Poetry, Singing, and other Open Mic opportunities are featured.

The 35th Evening of Music and Dance will occur at Opperman Music Hall at 7:30 PM. Tallahassee Ballet will perform, accompanied by students from FSU’s Music Program.

Tallahassee’s Downtown Getdown starts back up at 6:00 PM at Adams Street and College Avenue. There will be live shows and food for purchase.

Tallahassee Chan Center hosts Group Bodhisattva Precepts Recitation at 6:00 PM

Saturday, September 20:

The MenWalking event will be held at Tom Brown Park. It will begin at 9:00 AM.

The Women’s Distance Festival 5K will occur at Indian Head Acres. Sign up/Registration is required. The Florida Panhandle Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (FPSITE) will also be on-site to promote pedestrian and bicycle safety and raise awareness.

The Woodville Library Branch is hosting a Reading Journal Club at 10:30 AM. The library will provide the journals and decorative touches; just bring your book reviews, reading list, and unique perspectives.

The first day of the North Florida Gun and Knife Show at the North Florida Fairgrounds begins at 9:00 AM. Admission is $11, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Tallahassee Film Society begins showing Kill the Jockey at the IMAX. This follows Remo and Abril: Remo's self-destructive behavior overshadows his talent. Abril, an upcoming jockey, is pregnant with Remo's child and has to decide between child or continuing to race. They both race for Sirena, a businessman who saved Remo's life in the past.

The Bark hosts local bands The Village Idiots, Apologee Flowers, Star Eaters, and Airstream Holiday beginning at 8:30 PM. Admission is around $14.

Sunday, September 21:

Tallahassee Nerds and Geeks hosts a Meet and Greet at Lofty Pursuit Ice Cream at 4:00 PM

The Artist Series continues with a performance of Opus 76 by the String Quartet. Admission starts at $5. The concert begins at 4:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church.

The last day of the North Florida Gun and Knife Show at the North Florida Fairgrounds begins at 10:00 AM. Admission is $11, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Crafternoon at the Challenger begins with the last of the Pride and Prejudice miniseries at 1:00 PM. Admission is $10 and includes the movie, drinks, and additional craft and chat time afterwards.

The Greater Frenchtown Southside Citizens Advisory Committee (GFS CAC) Meeting will meet at the Smith-Williams Service Center at 6:00 PM

This month’s Library Lecture series is titled From Lake Miccosukee to the Everglades: Native Voices of the Apalachee Region. This is a free program, accompanied by complimentary refreshments. It starts at 6:00 PM. The long and complex history of the Native peoples of the Apalachee Region, guided by the perspective of the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, will be discussed. The lecture will also highlight the lasting impact of Native leaders and the Tribe’s ongoing environmental stewardship across Florida today.

The Tallahassee Hispanic Theater will perform a twenty-minute program at the Main Branch Library at 6:00 PM. At the conclusion, Alejandra Gutiérrez, a Spanish instructor at Florida State University and an expert in contemporary Hispanic drama, will give a lecture.

The Village Square presents Fast Forward Tallahassee, a quick “Pecha Kucha” style showcase of what is happening around town. It starts at 5:30 PM at the Challenger Learning Center.

The Museum of Florida History hosts "Saving Stories: The Florida Veterans’ History Program" at 12:00 PM/Noon at Mission San Luis (note: the temporary entrance is located at 2021 Mission Road). Julian Duncan, of the Florida Division of Arts and Culture, will discuss the Major John Leroy Haynes Florida Veterans’ History Program. He’ll discuss the process of collecting stories and highlight the importance of preserving our veterans’ military experiences for future generations.

Thursday, September 25:

The Neighborhoods Award Program will meet at the Parkview Ballroom at Cascades Park at 6:30 PM

Tallahassee’s Film Festival begins. Tickets start at $55.

Halisi Africa hosts Fallin’ in Love Paint and Sip, a guided artistic evening with drinks, music, and a charcuterie board. Tickets are $30 and the event begins at 6:00 PM.

LeMoyne Arts is hosting its Opening Reception of Colorful Journey featuring Gustavo Castillo and Carmen Lagos at 5:00 PM.

Friday, September 26:

Goodwood Museum and Gardens and Classic Eurocars host Wheels, Wine, and Whiskey starting at 6:00 PM. The theme is “Get Your Kicks on Route 66.” Attendees will be able to taste premium whiskey while listening to a live performance from Tom and the Cats. A classic car display, a curated wine bar, hors d’oeuvres, and retro fashion will be featured. Guests are encouraged to dress in “vintage” attire or in the theme of “road trip chic.” Tickets are 21+ and start around $55.

Donald L. Tucker Civic Center hosts Parker McCollum with special guests Ashley Cooke and Kassi Ashton. The concert begins at 7:30 PM, and tickets start at about $31.

The Bar(d) Crawl, a fundraiser for the Southern Shakespeare Company, starts one of three trolley and bar tours around town. Performances will be given along the way. Tickets can be purchased online.

Saturday, September 27:

The Asian Coalition of Tallahassee hosts the Experience Asia Festival at Tom Brown Park starting at 10:00 AM. Events, food, and other vendors will be available on site.

The Bar(d) Crawl, a fundraiser for the Southern Shakespeare Company, has the last two trolley and bar tours around town. Performances will be given along the way. Tickets can be purchased online.

TMH Foundation hosts Cards for a Cure at 7:00 PM at The Moon. This year’s honoree is Brooke Wyckoff, Head Coach of the Florida State Seminoles Women’s Basketball Team and a breast cancer survivor. Cards for a Cure generates critical funding that helps cancer patients without health insurance access life-saving PET scans, MRIs, and mammograms. Your support also helps provide lodging and transportation for patients who must travel to Tallahassee for treatments.

Oktoberfest at Amicus Brewing continues.

Redemptive Farms hosts a Needle Felting class, which is taught by Milagros Pollock from Five Acre Meadows. A sculpted pumpkin will be the (hopeful) outcome of the class. Tickets can be purchased online.

TRE (Trauma/Tension Relief Exercise) Workshop with Ashley Pickard at Abundance Wellness Center at 12:00 PM/Noon. RSVP for a placement.

The Tallahassee Film Festival starts its second day. Empire Records will be shown at Kleman Plaza in partnership with Downtown Tallahassee. This is a free event; bring a chair or blanket.

AARP is hosting Mark Mustian at the Domi Station at 4:00 PM. Mustian is a writer and the President of Word of South. This is a free event

Sunday, September 28:

The Tallahassee Museum hosts a class on Growing and Using Herbs beginning at 1:00 PM. Tickets start at $16.

Opening Nights presents James Patterson and Patrick Leddin, who will discuss their new book Disrupt Everything. Tickets start at $40 and include a signed copy of Patterson/Leddin's book.
