Fourth of July 2026 in Tallahassee

Whether you plan to head out or watch the celebrations inside, there’s something for everyone this Independence Day! This is a special year for America as it’s the 250th anniversary.

Events in Tallahassee:

The city will host a Celebrate America event at Tom Brown Park. This is a free event that begins at 6:00 PM and ends at 10:00 PM (weather permitting). The headliner is the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and at 9:50 the fireworks will begin. Food trucks will be onsite, alcohol is available to purchase for those 21+. You may also bring your own picnic. The park will close at 8:30. There will be a free shuttle taking people to and from the park.

The American Legion Hall will host an Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration at Lake Ella. This will begin at 11:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM. There will be some food and music. This is a free event.

If you are a member of the Golf Club at Summerbroke, they will also be hosting fireworks, after a 4-person scramble, around 9:00 PM. Nonmembers can pay a nominal fee and use the facilities for the day.

The 43rd Annual Firecracker 5K and 1 Mile Sparkler Run will begin at 7:00 AM at Cascades Park. Racers must register in advance and pay a small entrance fee. Viewers of the race can enter the park for free.

America 250 will host several events around the country (some of which will be livestreamed) but there does not seem to be any block party being held locally. America250 FL has several events statewide that will host events this whole year.

Southwood will host fireworks and a neighborhood parade and concert. It will begin at 5:00 PM and end at the end of the fireworks show (probably around 9:00 PM).

On Television:

PBS will show A Capitol Fourth at 8:00 PM on the local PBS stations. Several performances from The National Symphony Orchestra, The Joint Armed Forces Chorus, Smokey Robinson, Fantasia, Darren Criss, Sheila E., Fitz and Noelle from Fitz and the Tantrums, Chloe Flower, Sister Sledge Ft. Sledgendary, Loren Allred, Shawn Johnson East, Britt Stewart and Jack Everly, The Choral Arts Society of Washington, Patrick Lyndy and the Ministers of Music, the United States Army Band, the U.S. Army Herald Trumpets.

The Boston Pops will perform with Lainey Wilson, Chance the Rapper, and Trombone Shorty for their Boston Pops Spectacular Fourth of July show. It will be shown on CNN app and website from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Parts of the show will be shown on CNN as well.

Macy’s will expand its fireworks show in New York City, with 85,000+ fireworks shells. It will be shown on NBC, Telemundo, and Peacock starting at 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Performers include Post Malone, Noah Kahan, Salt-N-Pepa, Bebe Rexha, Shaboozey and Alexia Jayy. A musical score by Jason Howland will occur during the fireworks.

Nathan’s Famous Hotdogs Eating Contest will be shown on ESPN and ESPN streaming. It will begin at 10:45 AM and again at 12:00 PM.

Disney will host a fireworks show and multiple programs under the Disney Celebrates America streaming on Disney+, Hulu, ABC, and other broadcasts. David Muir will host during the daytime. This event is running from July 03-04.

The Fourth in America: Celebrating 250 will show on CNN. Various events and cities will be shown, including Washington DC, New York City, Boston, San Diego, Philadelphia, Nashville, Provincetown, Mount Vernin, and Los Angeles. Charlie Puth, Josh Groban, Kane Brown, The Goo Goo Dolls, Marin Morris, AJR, Lil’ Wayne, Kool and the Gang, and Chaka Khan. Several fireworks shows will be shown from various cities.

Fox will show its Big Independence Day Special at 8:00 PM that will show live fireworks from Washington D.C., Briston, and Asbury Park. There will be a musical performance by Frank Ray.

Of note:

Governor DeSantis has given state workers Thursday (July 02) and Monday (July 06) off. Workers are already off on Friday (July 03).

Tallahassee’s Fire Department has issued a Fireworks Safety Tips for the Fourth of July giving advice and knowledge. Since Tallahassee has been in a drought, event with the rain we’ve been having, fire safety is paramount.
