Apalachee Chapter of the Florida Trail Association

The local chapter of the Florida Trail Association, based in Leon County and the Big Bend. There are monthly programs for hiking, trail maintenance, paddling, biking, and other outdoor activities.

Tallahassee Rollergirls

A roller derby league, active since 2006. Positions are available for skaters, referees,volunteers or simply as fans.

Gulf Wind Track Club

There are several different types of running groups at different levels (and distance) that meet over different days/times. They host over twenty different races throughout the year. Membership is annually $20-50 depending on the plan.

 

Tallahassee Mountain Bike Association (TMBA)

Membership is $40-50. Part of the Southern Off-road Bicycle Association (SORBA) and the International Bike Association. Members have weekly rides, take part in trail maintenance, and are advocates for trail development. Riders of any skill level are welcome.

 
 

Fleet Feet Tallahassee Training Classes

Several options are offered throughout the year, including form and one for the Marathon.

 
 

Apalachee Canoe & Kayak Club

Dues are $10 annually. There are meetings every third (3rd) Wednesday of the month. Members include canoeists, river kayaking, sea kayaking, and whitewater aficionados. Web page and Facebook group.

 
 
 
 
 

Big Bend Group Sierra Club

John Muir founded the Sierra Club in 1892, making this a member of one of the oldest environmental clubs in America. The Big Bend Group meets the second (2nd) Thursday of the month at 6:30 P.M. Activities include monthly hikes, bike rides and paddles. Website, Meet Up, Facebook

Tallahassee Chapter of Liverpool Football Club

Tallahassee Liverpool Football Club

A club for supporters for Tallahassee and the surrounding regions. Connecting local fans to watch, network, and support the Reds.

 
 
 

Outdoor Afro Tallahassee

This is a community that reconnects African Americans with natural spaces and one another through recreational activities such as camping, hiking, biking, birding, fishing, gardening, skiing, etc. Part of the larger network of Outdoor Afro community.

 

Tallahassee Area Hash House Harriers

An “international group of non-competitive running/hiking, social, and drinking clubs”. Originally modeled on a British paper chase.

 
 

Move Tallahassee

A walking group that meets at various parks in Tallahassee. They meet two or three times a month for their planned walks. About 50-200 people will show up. Each walk has a lead, middle, and sweep walker-meaning no one is left behind. There is a MeetUp Group (linked in image), a Facebook Page, and a Facebook Group.

 

Tallahassee Ultimate (Frisbee) League

A non-contact group sport for all ages. The games are played in the evening and during the week. There are different levels of seasonal membership, depending on what extra goodies (shirt, et al) are included. Seasonal fees are $0-44.

 
 

Florida Paddling Trails Association

This statewide organization was developed with the Department of Environmental Protection. It’s goal is to teach safety, paddling, conservation of the waterways, and to build communities amongst its members. Any paddler (canoe, kayak, and/or paddleboard) can join. Membership is $25-50 annually.

Disc Golf Clubs

There are a variety of disc golf clubs in town. Information on the sports and the two local disc golf courses in town can be found at Tallahassee Parks and Recreation website. Some of the clubs in town are the Buck Lake DGC, Millstone, Spanish Moss DGC, Tallahassee Disc Golf Association, and the South Georgia Flying Disc Society.
