Friday, January 03: First Friday at Railroad Square Art Park begins at 6:00 PM. Shops stay open late, food and drink are available for purchase.
Saturday, January 04: Tallahassee Film Society is putting on Light After Light, a drama starring Marin Ireland and Jim Gaffigan. It was written and directed by Paul Harrill. It’s showing at All Saints Cinema from Friday to Sunday night. For Saturday, the beginning time is 7:00 PM. Tickets are $7 for TFS members and students and $10 for general admission.
January’s Skies Over Tallahassee, hosted by the Tallahassee Astronomical Society, begins its free showing (to the first 128 people) at 10:00 AM. Another showing at 11:00 AM costs $3.
Many Farmer’s Markets in town start in the morning at 9 or 10 AM.
Gulf Winds Track Club’s 2020 Swamp Forest Hill Run begins at 8 AM. There are three options available, one is a 3/4 marathon, the second is a half marathon and the third is a 1/4 marathon.
Sunday, January 05: Trivia with Hank and Cap City Video Lounge is hosting Trivia/Movie night featuring Drop Dead Gorgeous. The doors open at 4 PM and the movie begins at 4:30. Price is $5.

Monday, January 06: Goodwood Museum is hosting a free Mindfulness Meditation at 11:00 AM. Later in the day is chair yoga.
Tuesday, January 07: Trivia with Hank is at Midtown Pies, Game Night with Trevor Bonds is at Serenity Coffee and Kava Bar, and, Sandy Beck is bringing live owls to Waterworks to explain the 4 different types of owls that live in North Florida.
Wednesday, January 08: The Righteous Brothers are performing at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall as part of the Opening Nights series. The concert begins at 7:30 PM with a small number of tickets still available. Tickets are $65-75.
Cassandra King Conroy is speaking to Midtown Reader at 6:00 PM. Tickets include entry and a hardcover copy of Conroy’s new memoir. Some of the proceeds are going to Friends of the Library as well. The HERC bookclub has it’s first 2020 meet on Thursday where they’ll discuss The Unwanted.
Thursday, January 09: Alex Lopez and the Xpress are performing at The Junction at Monroe beginning at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $15 for reserved seating (Tickets are available in the link above).
Tallahassee’s new police chief (Chief Revell) is appearing at a meet and greet at the Hilaman Golf Course at 6 PM. Entry is free,
